Atlantic Logistics in Clay Today

Clay Today reporter and US Army Veteran Bruce Hope had a chat with CEO Rob Hooper and Keystone Heights Manager Amanda Thacker to share thoughts on hiring local, diversity in trucking, and starting a business venture later in life.

"Robert is extremely proud of his mother and what she has helped to build.

'I think it’s a great role model to women looking to do something different,” he said. “Logistics, it’s changing and growing. There’s not a lot of female truck drivers. I think it’s up to 11% of the trucking force. Over the last 20 years that’s growing, but I think she’s a great role model to other women that want to start a business and lead later in life. I think that’s been inspirational to my sister and all of us.'

Amanda Thacker is the manager of the Keystone Heights office of the company. As a 25-year Keystone Heights resident, she loves that there is a local office of the company.

'Family comes first which is a big thing here in Keystone Heights. We try to hire within Keystone Heights. It’s important, just for me to be a woman and to work for a woman owned company.'"
