Carrier News Regarding COVID-19

With an avalanche of COVID-19 information coming daily we want to provide updates specifically for carriers, in hopes of distilling the information in a clearer way.

Recently Florida Governor Ron DeSantis enacted Executive Order 20-86 requiring visitors from from Connecticut, Louisiana, New York, and New Jersey to self-quarantine for 14 days or for the duration of their stay, whichever is shorter.

Since then, The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) says incoming travelers will now be required to complete a traveler form when crossing the state line. This will not apply to military, emergency, health or infrastructure response, or people traveling for commercial activity. Also exempt are those that live in Alabama or Georgia and commute to work in Florida.

These changes will not affect Carriers.

The Florida Trucking Association has page dedicated to assisting carriers during the pandemic that can be found here.

A quick Florida Trucking Association COVID-19 FAQ Sheet can be found here.

Finally, Fleet Owner has a great story dispatches from the road, where Truck Drivers report on what life has has been like driving through a pandemic. Worth your time to have a read.

We'll keep you updated regularly, and until next time please stay safe everyone.
