Moving oversized freight takes more than capacity. It takes planning, precision, and the right team behind it.
For this featured load, our team coordinated the transport of crated machinery from the Port of Savannah to White, Georgia as part of an ongoing project. This was no small move. The shipment weighed in at 58,202 pounds and measured an impressive 31 feet 7 inches long, 9 feet wide, and 10 feet 8 inches tall.
To handle the size and weight, the load was transported on an extendable RGN, allowing for proper weight distribution and compliance with route requirements. Every detail was mapped out in advance to ensure a smooth, safe transit from port to final delivery.
This move was led by Blair Boatright, Manager of Specialized and Project Cargo, alongside a team that understands what it takes to execute complex shipments without disruption.
It starts with planning. Our team conducts detailed route surveys, secures the necessary permits, and coordinates any required escorts well before the truck hits the road. We evaluate bridge clearances, road restrictions, and timing to avoid delays.
From there, it is all about execution and visibility. We track each step of the shipment in real time, staying in close communication with drivers and customers. If something changes, we adjust quickly. That level of oversight keeps projects on schedule and eliminates surprises.
It also comes down to experience. Oversized and project cargo is not something you can approach with a one-size-fits-all mindset. Every load is different, and our team treats it that way.
At Atlantic Logistics, we do more than move freight. We manage the entire process so our customers can stay focused on their operations. Whether it is port drayage, specialized equipment, or multi-leg project cargo, we bring the expertise, communication, and reliability needed to get it done right.
If you have freight that requires extra attention, planning, or specialized handling, our team is ready to help you move it with confidence.
